The house on a 1300 m2 property is on the edge of Le Gros Chigy near Cluny, it's the quiet and rural surroundings that you will remember. The house looks over Charolais pastures to the hill above Cluny in the far distance and over a few houses some 500m away to the medieval Chateau of Le Gros Chigy some 500 m away.

Detailed Description of The House at Le Gros Chigy

The main living area comprises living and dining areas in a large room the runs the width of the house. Double doors open onto an uncovered terrace which runs down into a small cherry orchard with 5 Cherry trees, planted in the 70s, that bear beautiful cherries and provide relieving shade on hot summers days.

The level up from the main living area houses 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a toilet in recently completed areas under the roof.

The level down from the living area houses a bedroom, bathroom and toilet while further down is the kitchen and main bedroom both of which are well above ground level. At ground level there are a cellar, a "summer kitchen" and a utility area which houses the oil burner for hot water and central heating.
  • Main Bedroom - double bed, wardrobe and two bedside tables
  • Joel's Room - single bed and child's desk
  • Blue Bedroom - double bed, cupboard, bedside tables and lights
  • Yellow Bedroom - double bed, cupboard, towel rack and bedside tables
  • Upstairs Bathroom - bath, pottery handbasin, floor standing mirror and electric towel dryer and heater
  • Downstairs Bathroom - shower and washing machine
  • Living area - 16 place extendable dinning room table, 3 piece leather lounge suite, desk large CRT TV and small screen LCD TV
  • Kitchen - large fridge, bar fridge, 4 burner gas stove with oven
  • Garden - two garden tables, 12 garden chairs and 2 deck chairs
All rooms are fitted with shutters and curtains. You will have access to the fuel oil based hot water and central heating. These services, as well as water and electricity will be free of charge up to a reasonable base use after which you will pay for the quantities you use.

Where Is The House?

The house is on one of the seven nameless roads of Chigy. It turns into a track at the upper corner of the property and is closed some 400m further. The house is situated at 46.500964°N 4.556709°E and in the heart of Burgundy.
