Birds We've Seen at Mabalingwe

This "continues" the series I started at Le Gros Chigy. Its a few birds we saw at the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, west of Bela Bela in Limpopo Province. This is about 130 km north of Pretoria.

Because Oiseaux.net didn't have any details on these birds, other than photographs, I have taken extracts from BirdForun.net.

We however had a much closer encounter with a guineafowl at our breakfast table!

Now an Up To Date Photo of the Chateau

After blogging that I would take a comparable photograph next time I am in Le Gros Chigy (seems like that is probably going to be May) a friend from nearby Buffières went out ant took the photograph below on the 8th March 2011.

A great shot of the chateau from very close to where the postcasrd was taken all those years ago!

A great shot of the chateau from very close to where the postcard was taken all those years ago! The modern camera gives a more realistic perspective and much more detail
